The idea that humans could live beyond 100 in good health is no longer science fiction. Advances in AI diagnostics, gene therapy and cellular medicine are driving a movement that could extend lifespan.

Peter Diamandis' upcoming The Longevity Guidebook explores aging’s future, suggesting medical advances may prevent and even reverse disease. A futurist and entrepreneur, Diamandis offers practical advice on maximising health today while preparing for a “healthspan revolution”.

A key argument is that up to 70% of longevity depends on lifestyle, not genetics. Diamandis outlines strategies for optimising diet, sleep, exercise, and stress while exploring emerging technologies like AI-driven diagnostics and regenerative therapies. Some claims, like "longevity escape velocity," remain speculative. While figures like Ray Kurzweil and Dr. George Church support the idea, many scientists argue aging is too complex to predict such breakthroughs. Those familiar with Bryan Johnson’s longevity approach will recognise much of Diamandis’ messaging.

The book will also cover pharmaceutical and supplement-based approaches, including Diamandis’ personal regimen of 75 daily pills. While some compounds show promise, many still remain unproven or might even be counterproductive when consumed daily. We wait to see the details of his regimen.

The idea that humans could live well beyond 100 years in good health is no longer confined to science fiction. Advances in AI-driven diagnostics, gene therapy and cellular medicine are fuelling a movement that some experts believe could significantly extend human lifespan.

The book raises an essential question: how much of our future health is in our hands; and how much will, might, depend on future innovation?
