We thought to ask a handful of key professionals in Singapore's health space to share their current reading, as well as recommendations from the past. I thank everyone who has shared their selections with us.
Some of the books currently being read are newly released, others not. In six months time perhaps they will be remembered, perhaps not. Other books in the list are those that have remained in the readers' headspace, influencing them over time. Longevity on the bookshelf.
Scroll down and discover. Click on the image and you will be directed to a relevant online retailer page or our own review. What books have you enjoyed reading? Make your suggestion at the bottom of page and perhaps we can enjoy and share them in the future.

Becoming Supernatural: How Common People are Doing the Uncommon
Dr. Joe Dispenza
Carmen enjoys Becoming Supernatural because"it touches on neuroplasticity, epigenetics, the mind and body connection, evidence of meditation states on the brain and heart rhythm, and our innate ability to change our mental and emotional states to change our physiology."
Maria is an experienced and committed runner, her recommended read is...
Running Within
Jerry Lynch and Warren Scott
Says Maria "Running Within has significantly influenced my perspective on health and sports. Unlike typical running books focused on technique and training plans, this book explores the body-mind-spirit connection in running. It delves into discovering the motivations behind why you run, overcoming mental barriers, and the personal significance you attribute to the activity.
I've learned, running transcends mere physical exercise and benefits; it's about conquering mental blocks, overcoming resistance, and clearing limiting beliefs. The book seamlessly integrates mindfulness, encouraging relaxation during physical exertion, embracing the present moment, and using mantras for grounding.
I believe it offers valuable insights for athletes at any level, whether someone is just beginning or a seasoned runner looking to improve their performance. This book taught me more about mindset than achieving specific times, helping me establish running and exercise as a habit I've maintained for over 15 years."
@Maria - from one runner to another, thanks for this share. We have added it to our list of inspirational and practical running books.

The Art and Science of Connection:
Why Social Health Is the Missing Key to Living Longer, Healthier, and Happier
Kasley Killiam MPH
One of many insights that Jing found in the book resonates with us deeply... "It’s not just your family, friends, and romantic partner who influence your health and well-being; it's also your coworkers, your neighbours, the stranger who held the door open for you, and the barista you exchange pleasantries with." Social health matters.
And his book recommendation book is a current favourite of many..

Peter Attia MD, Bill Gifford
Neil shares that "In the fast-paced and rapidly expanding world of longevity, Attia's rationale and approach is still the one that resonates most with my own practice."
And Neils' book recommendation is...
Thinking Fast and Slow
Daniel Kahneman
Says Neil "Much of a family physician's role involves understanding people's thought processes and how they arrive at decisions. This book serves as a great introduction to appreciating unconscious bias and the limitations of human judgement."

And lastly... recently Felicia and I have been dealing with many questions realting to health and end of life issues for the elderly.
