Book Review "Saturated Facts" by Dr Idrees Mughal aka Dr Idz

Updated: Dec 4

review Saturated Facts Idz

What? Focused on nutrition and eating practices, a book dedicated to myth busting and correcting online health misinformation.

Who? Dr Idrees Mughal better known as "Dr Idz" is a UK doctor with a masters in nutritional research and a board certification in lifestyle medicine. Online - originally via Tik Tok - he is famous for confronting junk information (and its proponents) head on with facts.

Why? From the danger of seed oils, veganism and keto, intermittent fasting and more, social media is rife with misinformation from well meaning influencers to outright grifters. Dr. Idz sets commons myths straight and quotes (correctly) from the science to bring light to these subjects.

So… If you are looking for an overview of the hot button nutrition topics, what the science actually says and how to improve your everyday eating practices for general health, weight loss and more... this book is a great place to start.

Dr Mughal maintains a calm exterior in an online space where positions are often vehemently held. His debunks are sometimes met with counter arguments, thereby generating more debate and noise but he is one of the few that puts his head above the trench to argue for the science.

Saturated Facts is available online.

Stay Healthy,

Alastair
